The Bakongo/ Kongo are a people of Central Africa established on the Atlantic coast of Pointe-Noire in the north (Republic of Congo) to Luanda (Angola) to the south and into the province of Bandundu (Democratic Republic of Congo) to the east, including in the province of Bas-Congo in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This fine mask depicts severity, seriousness, and righteousness.

It is a moral figure.

Its purpose is to fight evil and protect land, home, and people.
